A3 Dan Certificates for TSKUK

 We were thrilled when we were approached by TSKUK to produce dan grade certificates for them. TSKUK were looking for a traditional JKA style format and for us to produce the pdfs of individual certificates with names and dates translated.

I think we completed the graphics for 39 Certificates in our first production for TSKUK.

A3 Dan Certificate for Switzerland

We were recently asked by the Swiss Karate-do Organization to produce a A3 Dan certificate for them that they could complete themselves.

They chose to add their logo at the top of the certificate, which we converted to a vector image. They also added a custom Hanko for the Organization and a chief Instructor hanko in the signature box along with a phoenix border and a script font. Below is our graphic:

Fully Custom A3 Senior Dan Certificate

 Most of our certificates we design are templates where names and dates are added by ourselves to produce individual certificates or templates where associations complete these details themselves.

This job was quite different. We were asked by Hombu Dojo Karate International to work with them to produce a one off certificate for their Chief Instructor on promotion to 7th Dan.

The promotion was awarded by the HDKI Kokusai Shingikai (International Council /advisory body) so it is their kanji that appear in the vertical left hand column.

The members of the Shingikai are at the bottom of the certificate, so the layout is quite different to what a standard certificate awarded by an association may look like. 

There was quite a lot of correspondence between the UK, members of the International Council and advisors in Japan to agree on the final layout and exact kanji that were selected.

So to be honest we did not have too much involvement other than layout the customers requirements.

Seishin Stamps

 We were recently asked if we could do some designs for both dojo and individual stamps for Seishin karate. 

The club hanko were in our standard 24 x 24mm format and the individual stamps were sized at 12mm diameter.

The club requested were do a graphic of their logo with the kanji in the four corners. This is not something we have done before but custom is what we do best.

Custom Logo and Kyu grade certificate

 A while back we were contacted by a newly forming club to produce for them a new club logo and a kyu grade certificate.

Our customer had provided us with some initial artwork which unfortunately was not a high enough resolution and did not import well into our graphics package so we decided to start from scratch and produce a brand new logo as a vector image. This means that it can be enlarged to any size (as big as a tower block if you like) and it does not lose definition. This is because the image is saved as a number of curves and not pixels like a photo.

On completion of the logo we worked with the customer to produce a kyu grade certificate. The selected to add their new logo, a phoenix border and a custom hanko.

Certificate remodel for Nishinihon Karate

 We were recently asked to remodel a current Dan certificate for Nishinihon karate which involved making a few changes to layout, it was to be a mix of their existing certificate and our standard style A3 template. Being a small micro business "custom" is our speciality and we happy to work with our clients to try and produce exactly what they want. As usual the design is usually developed in a number of steps from client brief, through our initial rough draft, then a few "to and fro" amendments until we reach a final design.

The certificate uses the kanji for Shuryo-Shosho rather than just the Sho kanji as per their existing certificate. The client requested that the kana part of the text did not require a translation of the name of the recipient and date as this would be in the English text below. There is a space at the top of the 3rd column from the right to insert text of the level of Dan attained.

Nishinihon karate also asked that we incorporated their logo at the top, a custom Hanko, a phoenix border and a watermark along with their affiliations to federations at the base of the certificate.

The certificate leans a little more to a "Western" style than our normal certificate making it easier for the Association to complete details in English text making it a little easier for them and easier for the recipient to read as well.

Swiss Special

 We were very pleased recently to be commissioned by Taekwondo Academie Geneve to produce a special plaque for them.

The plaque is a "Special" one off custom incorporating the Academie logo, the name of the dojang with the two mirrored TKD fighters in International and Swiss colours, the hangul for TKD and at the base the 5 Tenets.

The plaque is one of our standard sizes 780mm x 630mm and is a maple veneer on a mdf board with a balancer. We do not undertake Korean translation but rely on our client sending a text version of their requirements that are imported into our graphics package and a suitable font selected.
