Logo support

We often find that customers don't have a high resolution copy of their existing club or association logos. It is common that they have been "making do" with just an old jpeg image and their stationary and website don't look as sharp as they could do as a result.

We were recently contacted by Waterlooville Shotokan Karate Club and all they had access to was a photo of a club embroidered badge.

We were not able to use the image on the projects they were commissioning so we set out to recreate it from scratch. Sometimes we are able to convert a JPEG to a vector image and make improvements, but this was not possible in this case.

The new logo above can be enlarged to any size (as big as a tower block if you like) and it does not lose definition. This is because the image is saved as a number of curves and not pixels like a photo.

Dojo Nameboards - Kanban

Sometimes the workshop is so busy that we forget to share a custom commission. 

This was a project that was completed back in Spring 2021.

Kanban can be produced in either a block or brush font on either maple or oak.

This Kanban for the Karate Dojo was the brush font on a maple veneered board.

Delivery is always an issue with long objects, so it is included on short boards, but is individually quoted for longer boards.

International shipping on longer objects can become uneconomic. 

Anyway we delivered this one personally and had a look round this amazing dojo.

BJJ Family plaque

Here we have a BJJ Christmas pressie, a family plaque.

Our client has always appreciated our plaques and wondered if we could make a nafudakake for his Son-in-Law / Grandchild. 

He was looking to have the names translated into kana as our normal plaques, but we suggested this may not be the best way forward. BJJ is not Japanese based and as far as I am aware has a belt system rather than an Eastern style rank system.

So what we came up with was  leaving the names in English text, changing the orientation by 90 degrees and depicting the Blue and Grey Stripe belt behind the names.

An anniversary gift
