Our client first enquired if the OGKK produced an International kyu grade certificate. He was advised that unfortunately they did not. This is often the case because most groups award Dan grades centrally, but Kyu grades are often examined at club level, so the certificate should reflect this.
The translation of kenseikan was a bit problematic, our research found quite a few variations, most we were not particularly happy with to recommend to our client.
We look for provenance and regularly correspond with third parties to ensure we recommend suitable translations. Our research eventually took us to the OGKKs list of dojo on Okinawa and it was noticed that Yamashiro Sensei has a dojo in Ishigaki called Kenseikan. We then changed the language in google from English to Japanese and were able to import the kanji directly into our graphics package.

Draft A4 Kyu Certificate |
We provided a full translation for the club name but there were too many kana for a Hanko.
We look for symmetry in the hanko; so recommended a 3 x 4 layout of kana reading Stoneybrook Karate Dojo.
Timewise the project was very much a "loss leader", but there is a lot of satisfaction in investing additional time to ensure best service to our clients.
